Dental Ceramics of Iowa City has been fabricating high quality restorations for over thirty years. We are a crown and bridge lab who specializes not only in high-quality restorations, but high-quality customer service.
After accruing ten years of experience as a Certified Expanded Function Dental Assistant, Nancy Collins purchased Dental Ceramics of Iowa City in 1982. Since then, she has used her experience to discover the finest technicians, designers, and artisans in the dental industry.
Our knowledgeable, longtime staff members know the intricacies and advancements of the dental industry, and are acutely aware of the patient’s presence behind every crown. We realize that we are meeting both the standards of our doctors, and exceeding the expectations of their patients. Mary Beth Stout
Key Tasks: Designing Restorations on 3 shape, waxes understructures, casts and finishes non digital cases, die trims.
Bio: Mary has been with Dental Ceramics of Iowa City for 34 years. She is a graduate of the Dental Laboratory Technology program at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her experience as a waxer gives our Full Contour Zirconia restorations better fit and less adjustments for you. She enjoys time with her family as well as has a great workout routine.
Cathy Ohrt
Key Tasks: Specializing in all things ceramic! In lab shades, Anteriror Esthetics, Quaility Control, Implants
Bio: Cathy has been with Dental Ceramics for 18 years. Her artistic abilities landed her in the ceramic area of the laboratory. Her eye for color and shape gives our restorations that perfect blend with the patients current dentition or creates them an entire new smile!! In her free time she enjoys walks with her dog Oakley and kayaking.
Jason Kestel
Key Tasks: Scan and Design, Mill expert, Model Room Supervisor
Bio: Jason has been with Dental Ceramics for seven years. His knowledge of the 3shape scanner and our Mill and other equipment keeps us on schedule and producing the best zirconia crowns!! In his free time Jason enjoys cooking, golfing and hanging out with his son Jack and wife Heidi.
Makayla Buckman

Makayla is the newest member of the Dental Ceramics team. She has been with us for 9 months. She is the friendly voice that usually answers the phone.
Nancy Collins
Key Tasks: Owner, Implants, Consultant, Die Trims
Bio: Nancy, the owner of Dental Ceramics, has worked in the dental industry for more than thirty five years. She was a Certified Dental Assistant in Expanded Functions for ten years before she joined the lab industry. Her clinical experience has given her invaluable insight into dentistry which she translates into impeccable work at the bench. Nancy has owned dental ceramics since 1982.
